There we’ll be climbing the Via Ferrata - from Italian it means “iron road”. This is a system of iron ropes, rope bridges, staircase, and parapets fixed to the rocks. It will help you enjoy the world of rock climbing and alpinism even if you have no experience!

While climbing you’ll be able to experience unforgettable moments and amazing nature! And when you reach the top… Malyovitsa and Urdina valleys will be in your feet and some of the greatest Bulgarian peaks around you!

Itinerary

The tour starts at 08:00 am when our instructor will take you from your hotel.

We leave for Malyovitsa chalet which is 2 hours drive from Sofia.

After our arrival, we have an easy passage to the place where our climbing will start. It begins from 2042m above sea level and ends at 2240m.

Next, are the instructions and getting equipped.

The climbing length is 360 meters and there are a few different climbing thresholds with different difficulty which are connected with easier terrain. The metal safety rope is fixed and uninterrupted along the whole climbing route. There are some fixed steps at the hardest spots which can be used to step and hold.

Climbing Via Ferrata is an extreme endeavor which takes some skills, physical abilities and equipment. Gather some energy and get ready for an unforgettable adventure! We’ll take care of the rest!

You can bring some picnic food or can have lunch in the mountain hostel.

Depending on the weather and how long the climbing will take us we’ll leave for Sofia around 3 or 4 pm.

  1. Transport in a modern vehicle (mini-coach or a bus) with air conditioning: Sofia – Rila – Sofia / around 200 km and 3.5 hours driving time altogether
  2. Via Ferrata “Malyovitsa” adventure
  3. English speaking mountain guide and instructor during the whole trip ( one instructor for every 3 climbers).
  4. Mountain insurance

Important – We reserve the right to make changes to the tour if the meteorological conditions demand it.

We have the obligation to offer you the opportunity to sign a “Cancellation of the trip” insurance policy which is optional for you according to article 80, paragraph 1, section 14 from the Bulgarian Tourism Law.

1 euro = 1.95583 Bulgarian leva.

3-course lunch usually comes up to 15-20 leva/8-10 euro per adult.

We encourage you to bring some spare clothes, hydration liquids, a first aid kit.

Using fingerless gloves will help as well as hard-soled shoes.

The person who is climbing is responsible for him/herself as well as for those who are climbing behind them.

Breathing, waterproof jacket is recommended

It will be useful if you bring a small backpack in which you’ll be able to keep your stuff

You can also take with you your hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, a bottle of water, a t-shirt

The trip is not suitable for people with disabilities.

  2. When you make your booking you have to pay the whole amount for the tour.
Cancellation policy

Cancellation policy

You can unsubscribe from using our services at any time by paying the following cancellation fees:

  1. If you unsubscribe somewhere between the day you have made the booking until 24 hours before the beginning of the tour – we have to keep a 20% cancellation fee.
  2. If you unsubscribe when there are less than 24 hours to the beginning of the tour – we have to keep a 100% cancellation fee.
