9:00 – We’ll start the day with sightseeing tour in downtown area. You’ll trace Bulgaria’s history with a walk in the National History Museum where you’ll see many collections of artifacts from Bulgarian and Balkan history. Also, we will visit the former residence of the Bulgarian Chief of State (President of People’s Republic of Bulgaria 1954-1989) which today is the National History Museum. You’ll feel the spirit of the city about which Constantine the Great was saying often – “Serdika is my Rome” and was wondering if he should turn it into a capital of his empire. You will learn also how the city of Sofia was established, which are the main ages and cultures it has gone through, while walking on its streets and getting to know its greatest sites – The National Library, Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski; The National Assembly (The Parliament of the Republic), Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Russian Church “Sveti Nikolay Mirlikiiski”, Ivan Vazov National Theatre, St. George Rotunda (the oldest building in Sofia), The Presidency and the Ministry Council,The Eastern Gate of Roman Serdica and some other surprises.
14:00 – Depart for Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second biggest city.

Plovdiv is ancient and eternal. The first relics from village life are dated about 6000 years BC. This makes the city older than Athens, Rome, and Constantinopolе and makes the city as ancient as Troy and Mycenae. This city is one of the oldest living cities in Europe and it’s inviting you to take a walk at the cobblestone roads in the Old Town and see the beautiful houses and the sights from the Antiquity era – The Roman theatre of Philippopolis and the Roman stadium, but also the galleries and the bohemian coffee shops. We’ll take a walking tour in this ancient city, which has astonishing historical and cultural heritage and an amazing Old Town.

Plovdiv – Kazanlak – Sofia / 330 km and 4 hours driving time
Early breakfast.
Our day will start early morning because the tradition demands the rose pickers to get into the fields of roses before sunrise. 7 am we depart for Kazanlak which is 1.5 hours driving time from Plovdiv.
We go straight to the Rose gardens where we will take part in the “Rose picking” ritual near Kazanlak. We’ll see how the tradition of rose picking was kept throughout the ages among the aromatic mystery of the secretive and romantic flowers.
In this day we will explore unique rose distillery where we will see and explore a modern rose distillery where organic rose oil, rose water and lavender oil are being produced. We will have a guided tour at the place and a chance to try the original products made by Bulgarian roses.
Afterward, we depart for Kazanlak where we’ll feel the unique atmosphere of the Rose Festival Day. We enjoy the spectacular Festival Parade Carnival. The Carnival procession takes place in the streets of Kazanlak. We immerse in the majestic Rose Carnival Parade and see the participants from various cities and nations, who march in the streets of Kazanlak. People literally sing and dance in the streets. For our guests we have reserved chairs for the Carnival Parade, from where you can see the whole Parade and take some unique pictures.
Lunch at Kazanlak.
Afternoon depart for Sofia.
